Commissions

Are you looking for a unique gift?
To celebrate a special occasion, or as a personal memento, a JJ Vincent bespoke animal sculpture represents a unique gift that can be treasured for a lifetime.

I always welcome enquiries for commissioning special animal sculptures, including exclusive pet portraits.

Domestic pets, farm or wild animals
If you have a favourite animal that I do not currently make, I am happy to discuss making one to your specifications. If you have particular requirements, plus the necessary references, I can swiftly submit a quotation for your consideration. Further research can also be conducted if required.

In the case of a family pet (alive or deceased), all you need to do is email or post some photographic reference and I will submit a firm quotation with a few ideas for the pose/composition. I endeavor to capture the essential character and individuality of your favourite pet whilst avoiding an over-sentimental portrayal.

How JJ works
As you will probably have noticed, I work in a variety of styles, reflecting different levels of anatomical accuracy - some pieces are fairly closely studied and more "correct", whilst others can be highly simplified or stylised and a bit surreal.

After reviewing the available references, agreeing the pose/layout, size, budget and deadline, the making begins. At significant stages photographs are taken as the work progresses so that I can email pictures for reassurance and information to ensure that you are happy with the progress.

What will it cost?
Commission Fees from 1st April 2013.

Small (around 20cm high) – from £200
Medium (around 30cm high) – from £300
Large (around 40cm high) – from £450

A 25% deposit is required to secure the order. If for any reason you do not wish to accept the final sculpture, you will not be required to pay the balance.

Factors affecting the price would include: single or multiple animals, final size of the piece, complexity of the pose, mounting base or pedestal (if required), quality/quantity of photographic reference.

How long will it take?
Commissions generally take between 6 to 8 weeks from receipt of images and deposit to completion, depending on my workload at the time.

Delivery
Delivery charges are worked out by weight using overnight or same day couriers.

You are also welcome to collect your finished sculpture from the studio in Cambridge and/or visit to view the sculpture in progress to discuss details.
